Cronut craze hits UC newsroom

Cronut

In the University of Canterbury Journalism programme, Cronuts (a portmanteau of Croissant and Donut) have become a bit of an obsession. We’ve pitched stories about them and had stories about them pinched by others. We’ve looked on with envy at Aucklanders and Wellingtonians as they got to try them. And then we found a place in Christchurch had been making them since the start of August. So much for knowing what’s going on in our own backyard.

We discovered the source late last Thursday, which was a bugger, because they’re only made on Thursday mornings. But after waiting a week, the cronuts finally arrive.

ANDREW VOERMAN charts how the day unfolded on Storify.
